Public footpath via Old Croft Farm

Picture
There is some confusion about the public footpath which goes through Old Croft Farm, with some people complaining that a gate across the footpath is locked. This isn't the case - the tarred road with "Old Croft Farm" at the top is NOT the footpath. The footpath goes off Ewbank Lane to the right of the finger post, continuing as a green lane between hedges, over an old packhorse bridge and through the farmyard. See the attached photo (click to enlarge). The gate across the private entrance to the farmyard is locked but none of the gates across public rights of way are locked.

It goes without saying that all users of any routes through private lane must ensure that they close gates after they have gone through.

THE NEW COMMUNITY LIBRARY
in the Public Hall is now open. It will be open on Thursdays from 10.00am to 1.00pm, and any lunchtime from 11.00am to 1.30pm during school term, for books to be borrowed or returned. Fiction is likely to be the most popular genre, and more men’s fiction is needed. Books will be quarantined for a week before being made available, to protect against Covid. A donation can be dropped in the honesty box.

I am writing to offer support from our community for the over 70s who will be self isolating and anyone else who may also be isolated in the village. There are three of us who are happy to be a central point of contact to communicate with if anything is needed and we will cascade to others to make sure that they get the help that they need. The contact numbers will be:

Amanda 07947612042
Natalie 07515857604
